Only “legitimate” (I guess) Mews will work, meaning you’ll need to have obtained one from an online or in-person event at some point. You might have obtained a Mew via an in-game glitch in Pokemon Red or Blue, but unfortunately, that Mew won’t transfer into Pokemon Bank. There’s an unfortunate caveat, though, which is that there’s no Mew to go with it. As an additional incentive, Pokemon Bank will offer a Mewnium Z from now until October 2nd for anyone using the service. Keep in mind that Pokemon Bank is a subscription service, though a measly $4.99 will get you service for the entire year.
